MICHAEL "JACK" CROSS

Remembrance...

Michael "Jack" Cross died on January 21, 2007 after an 18-month battle with cancer. Jack was a 23-year employee at CCTA where he served as the Maintenance Manager for the last 6 years. Prior to becoming Maintenance Manager, Jack served as the Assistant Maintenance Manager for 10 years. He started with CCTA as a bus washer and worked his way up to Master Mechanic. Jack was also on the design team for the building that currently houses the CCTA buses and administrative offices for CCTA. Because of the dedication to his work, the maintenance facility was named in his honor on November 15, 2006. Jack was a great friend to his CCTA colleagues.

Jack was the, "Jack of all trades and master of them all." Where there was a need, he was always there determined to find a better solution. Whatever needed to be done – a project from scratch or a remodeling job – there wasn't anything he couldn't handle. Jack was generous, good natured, funny, energetic and handy. He will be greatly missed.
