TITLE VI and Formal ADA Complaints
CCTA operates its programs and services without regard to race, color, and national origin as stipulated in Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. If you feel you have been discriminated against based on your race, color, or national origin, you may file a complaint with CCTA by calling 864-0211 and stating that you would like to make a Title VI complaint. If you would like more information about your Title VI rights, you may call 864-0211 and request it be provided to you.
CCTA has designated Jamie Smith, Mobility Manager as ADA grievance officer to receive formal complaints of discrimination under the ADA. Grievances shall be in writing and contain information about the alleged discrimination such as name, address, phone number of complainant and location, date, and description of the problem. Alternative means of filing complaints, such as personal interviews or a tape recording of the complaint will be made available for persons with disabilities upon request. Grievances may not be made with a phone call. The grievance should be submitted as soon as possible but no later than 30 calendar days after the alleged violation. Written grievances should be sent to: Jamie Smith, Mobility Manager, 15 Industrial Parkway, Burlington, VT 05401.
In the event that an ADA grievance is not resolved within a 30 days or to the satisfaction of the grievant, CCTA’s decision may be appealed within 15 calendar days after receipt of CCTA’s response to the General Manager or his/her designee.
