CCTA EVENTSIn November, CCTA and GMTA held an event to thank Governor Jim Douglas and the Legislature for their continued support. At the event, Governor Douglas announced the funding for an additional three CCTA and fourteen GMTA clean diesel buses. Governor Douglas, Transportation Secretary Neale Lunderville, and CCTA General Manager Chris Cole were speakers. Several LINK passengers also came to show their support.
United States Senator Patrick Leahy visited CCTA offices in Burlington this summer to unveil the new 2007 Gillig buses. Because of Sentator Leahy’s efforts, CCTA received the funding needed to purchase six new 2007 emissions standards buses, which are used on local service. CCTA was happy for the opportunity to thank the Senator for his support of public transportation and the environment.
United States Senator Bernie Sanders took time out of his busy schedule to appear on Church Street with members of CCTA staff. He and General Manager Chris Cole spoke about CCTA’s decision to use biodiesel powered buses.
